How do I read the compatibility chart?

Find one person’s Sun sign in the left column and the other’s in the top row. Their intersection gives the editorial score out of 100. The same combination has the same score whichever person you put first. On a small screen, scroll the table sideways.

Where do the scores come from?

Our model starts with a value for the element pair, adjusts it for the two modalities and adds a small adjustment for identical signs. For example, Aries–Gemini starts at 88 for fire–air and adds 3 for cardinal–mutable, resulting in 91. Aries–Aries starts at 78, subtracts 4 for cardinal–cardinal and adds 4 for the identical sign, resulting in 78.

What should I do with a low score?

Does this replace a full synastry chart?

Are the percentages scientifically validated?

The numbers are scores out of 100, not percentages or validated probabilities. They express an editorial astrological model.

Why are there 144 cells but only 78 unique pairings?

Twelve signs paired in both directions make 144 cells. Removing mirrored duplicates gives 66 different-sign pairs; adding the 12 same-sign pairs gives 78.
